New brochure explains legal steps for hiring foreign seasonal workers

In the Limburg region, seasonal work remains an essential part of the horticultural and agricultural economy. During peak periods, employers often need to rely on additional labour from abroad to keep operations running smoothly. However, hiring foreign seasonal workers involves specific administrative and legal procedures.

To support employers in this process, the Flemish Department of Work, Economy, Science, Innovation and Social Economy (WEWIS) has published an updated brochure (in Dutch). This renewed guide offers clear, step-by-step information on how to request a work permit and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

The brochure is intended as a practical resource to help Limburg-based businesses—particularly in the horticulture sector—employ foreign seasonal workers in a lawful and organised way, while minimising administrative burden.
